Nike has launched the Zebra Knit Nike Women’s Tight of the Moment for women. From Nike Flyknit to Nike Pro Elite Knit, designers have been on a quest to both invent and reinvent knitting processes.
The Nike team wanted a pattern that would elicit a cozy feel and looks no further than knit sweaters, which are staples of the fall season. Using digital sublimation, which employs a heat press to send ink from a printed picture onto a piece of fabric, designers were able to incorporate inspirations from hand-knit sweaters in a very literal and authentic way. This can be seen in the black and white patterns on the tights.
In addition, with digital sublimation technology, designers can be very precise in where to place the prints. Specifically, the patterns are body-mapped to create a flattering look. The Zebra Knit Nike Tight of the Moment’s bold black stripes is inspired by cable knitting, a process that results in a braid-like look.
Soft to the touch, yet high performance, the tights feature Nike Dri-FIT fabric that pulls sweat away from the body to help keep legs dry and comfortable. The Zebra Knit Nike Pro Tights will be available at select retailers and online at Nike.com on Sept. 27.
