AP Govt. Signs MoU To Set Up Rs 100 crore RMG Park

A Rs 100 crore readymade garment manufacturing unit will be set up soon at Andhra Pradesh. The Andhra Pradesh Economic Development board has signed on the dotted line in favor of the project with Silver Crest Clothing Private Limited. The proposed factory will have a capacity of 20.4 million units per year. Employment generation for the proposed factory is also healthy and stands at 2250 direct employees besides 250 indirect employees. The Andhra Pradesh government signed the MoU after a one-on-one exchange of dossiers between Chief Executive Officer APEDB, J Krishna Kishore and Jeet Golcha Director Silver Crest Clothing. Silver Crest which is two years short of its silver jubilee is a manufacturer of finely tailored clothing in South Asia. It provides high quality garments to brands in US, UK and France. The current capacity level of Silver Crest stands at 4 million garments per year.it has four facilities in Bengaluru. The firm has a staff strength of 7700. It has captured many international brands and has a specialization in tailoring. The firm has a capacity to make over four million garments per year across four facilities in Bengaluru and currently employs 7,700. The firm has captured a significant share of tailored clothing, and caters to many international clients. In a press statement issued by Kishore, he mentined,”This MoU is a step in the right direction as textiles is a priority sector for the government of Andhra Pradesh and the government envisages increasing productivity and efficiency in the cotton-to-garment value chain”. Golcha said in a press statement, “We are excited to align with Andhra Pradesh’s industry friendly new textile policy and make small contributions to the impact it is making within the State and the nation.”
