Lisky Is A Reliable Technology Partner To The Bangladesh Knitting Industry

Lisky Technology (BD) Ltd is upbeat about the textile industry in Bangladesh, and expects the  market to remain bullish for some years. In an interview with Textile Excellence, M Shoquet Rashed Mamun, Managing Director, Lisky Technology (BD) Ltd, speaks about how Lisky has emerged a reliable technology partner to the Bangladesh knitting, dyeing, finishing industry.

 

How is the market for Lisky after a chaotic 2013?

2014 has started off well for us. There have been many enquiries for knitting machines. Our single jersey with lycra knitting machine continues to be the best seller. We are witnessing an expansion in the Bangaldesh RMG sector, and are positive about the market. Our dyeing-finishing range of machines has moved a little slowly, due to the absence of new gas connections. Continued short supply of gas and power has impacted Bagladesh's investments in its processing sector. Some new connections have begun coming in, to that extent, we will see investments picking up. 

 

What is Lisky's USP?

We offer machines that are well-suited  for the Bangladesh market. Our focus on after-sales service has helped us establish ourselves in this market as a reliable partner. My service center offers 24-hour service to clients. We are closed only for Eid holidays, to ensure that we are always there for our customers, and can help in the smooth running of their mills, through our support service. Besides service, our product R&D ensures that we offer the best to the market. We have the 64" diameter machine, the largest diameter machine in the market. Wide diameter machines help in cutting down wastages at the garmenting stage. Our fleece making machines are among the best in the market, the machines have done really well in China. In Bangladesh, Lisky enjoys a leadership position in this segment, mills prefer only Lisky machines for fleece. Our vertical stenter has received very good response in the market. The ALEA vertical stenter reduces power consumption by as much as 50 percent, and space saving of 50 percent. We offer a two-year warranty to our customers, instead of the usual one-year warranty that is industry standard. 

 

How do you see the Bangladesh market shaping up in the next two years?

2014 is a very important year for us. By 2013, we had 5000 knitting machines installed in the market, this is a very big achievement. This year, we expect to sell at least 500 knitting machines. We also expect around 10 projects in the dyeing and finishing sector that could invest in Lisky machines. An interesting trend is the shift towards more value added fabric manufacturing, for which Lisky has in place a number of suitable technologies. The market should remain good for a couple of years. Bangladesh is one of the most important markets for us.
