Clariant Boosts Asian Capacity, Targets Textile And Medical Sectors With Next-Gen Stabilizers

Clariant has announced a major expansion in its high-performance stabilizer portfolio, commissioning a second Nylostab™ S-EED production line at its Cangzhou facility in China through its joint venture with Beijing Tiangang Auxiliary Co. Ltd. The move addresses growing demand for premium stabilizers in Asia’s fast-growing nylon and polyolefin markets, with applications in both textiles and engineering plastics.

Nylostab S-EED, designed via molecular recognition for exceptional solubility in nylon, is gaining traction in artificial turf manufacturing for sports fields and high-traffic landscaping. The stabilizer delivers enhanced UV, heat, and oxidation resistance, ensuring superior durability, colour retention, and performance under intense sun exposure and frequent cleaning. These attributes significantly extend turf lifespan, reducing replacement costs and resource use.

Complementing this, Clariant has launched AddWorks™ LXR 548, a phenol-free antioxidant for polyolefin applications, particularly in medical devices, hygiene products, and nonwoven materials. It provides excellent colour stability after gamma sterilization and thermal processing, addressing the sector’s push to eliminate phenolic antioxidants while meeting stringent regulatory requirements.

With these advancements, Clariant is reinforcing its position as a specialty chemicals leader, combining technological innovation with market-driven sustainability solutions for the global plastics and textile industries. The developments will be showcased at K 2025 in Düsseldorf, reflecting the company’s commitment to durability, resource efficiency, and customer-focused innovation.
