In a move set to redefine textile innovation, Heraeus
Precious Metals, a global leader in precious metals, and RUDOLF, an
international specialist in textile chemistry, have entered into an exclusive
partnership to market advanced products for textile finishing and care.
At the heart of the collaboration lies AGXX technology,
a revolutionary antimicrobial innovation developed by Heraeus. Unlike
conventional biocides or silver-based solutions, AGXX works through a catalytic
reaction between two precious metals. When exposed to air humidity, it converts
oxygen into reactive oxygen species that eliminate odour-causing and harmful
microorganisms. Remarkably, the technology is self-regenerating, meaning it is
not consumed during the process and continues to work over time.
AGXX can be integrated directly into textile fibres and
yarns or applied during the finishing process, offering flexibility across
various textile applications. By adopting this technology, RUDOLF expands its
portfolio with a high-performance, sustainable solution that enhances textile
functionality and durability.
“This partnership is a significant step toward advancing
antimicrobial innovation in textiles,” says Martin Danz, Global Head of
Antimicrobial Technologies at Heraeus Precious Metals. “Together, we will
explore new possibilities for AGXX in textile finishing and develop broader
applications.”
Echoing this vision, Marcos Furrer, CEO of RUDOLF, adds,
“We are uniting two strong innovation leaders to inspire the textile industry
with fresh momentum. AGXX technology perfectly complements our portfolio – it
delivers performance, reliability, and real added value for our customers.”
The partnership underlines both companies’ commitment to
driving technological advancement and sustainability in the global textile
sector, setting new standards in hygiene, care, and product performance.
