Indorama Ventures' Fibres business has formed a landmark
joint venture with Jiaren Chemical Recycling. This new partnership aims to
aggressively accelerate circularity within the global textile industry. The
collaboration is a direct response to growing demands for sustainable solutions
and the immense challenge of textile waste.
This joint venture seeks to unlock a massive 100,000
tonnes of textile recycled PET spinning capacity every year. Jiaren Chemical
Recycling provides its advanced, scaled technology. The company's process
chemically recycles polyester waste. Jiaren's system can source, sort,
de-colour, de-polymerize, and then re-polymerize textile waste, turning old
garments back into high quality feedstock.
Indorama Ventures contributes its vast global
manufacturing footprint across the APAC, EMEA, and Americas regions. The
company's proven expertise in building efficient regional supply chains gives
the venture a powerful international platform. Indorama Ventures is backing the
partnership with a substantial double-digit million US$ equity investment into
Jiaren’s recycling capacity.
Brand owners stand to gain significantly. This venture
will provide a stable, large-scale source of recycled fibres and yarns. It
allows fashion and textile companies to meet ambitious climate targets.
Consumers will benefit from sustainable products that maintain high material
performance. This strategic alliance represents a significant, practical step
towards building a true circular textile economy.
