The Textile Association India has unanimously elected Shri
R. K. Vij as National President for the 2025 to 2027 term, reaffirming industry
confidence in one of the most experienced voices in Indian manmade fibres and
textiles. The election was held during the Governing Council meeting on
November 22, 2025, in Coimbatore.
Shri Vij brings more than 46 years of leadership across
textiles, fibres and polyester manufacturing. He currently serves as Advisor
for Polyester at Indorama Synthetics India Limited, one of the country’s
largest polyester producers. He earlier served as National President of The
Textile Association India during 2021 to 2023 and later as President Emeritus
from 2023 to 2025.
An MBA from Delhi University and a textile technologist from
TITS Bhiwani, Shri Vij has played a central role in shaping policy dialogue on manmade
fibres. He represents The Textile Association India across multiple forums of
the Ministry of Textiles and other government bodies. He also serves as
Secretary General of the Polyester Textiles and Apparel Association and Vice
Chairman of the Textile Committee at PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
India’s manmade fibre segment now contributes over 70% of
total fibre consumption, underlining the strategic importance of leadership in
this space. Shri Vij has stated that strong collaboration between industry and
associations will be key to driving competitiveness, exports and sustainable
growth.
