German textile machinery giant Oerlikon Textile GmbH &
Co. KG has solidified its technological footprint in the Indian market through
a strategic licensing agreement. The company officially granted Himson
Engineering Private Limited the sole license to manufacture and commercialize
specific patented texturing technology within India. This critical development centres
on the valid and subsisting Indian Patent No. 316763.
The patent specifically covers a "False-Twist Texturing
Machine For The Texturing Of A Plurality Of Multifilament Threads". This
advanced system is pivotal for the manmade fibre industry where texturizing
increases the bulk and elasticity of synthetic yarns. Himson Engineering, the
flagship entity of the Himson Bhogibhai Group based in Surat, now holds
exclusive rights to deploy this innovation domestically. The agreement empowers
the Indian manufacturer to produce, market, and sell machines utilizing this
sophisticated system, leveraging its experience of over five decades.
Both Oerlikon and Himson Engineering Pvt. Ltd. have jointly
issued a stern public notice regarding these intellectual property rights. They
explicitly caution that unauthorized manufacturing, sales, or imports of
products using this technology constitute infringement under the Patents Act,
1970. The two entities stated they will pursue strict legal action, including
injunctions and recovery of lost profits, against any violators. Darshan
Bachkaniwala, Director of Himson Engineering, represented the Indian partner in
this significant announcement. This collaboration ensures that Indian textile
producers gain access to authorized, high quality texturing solutions directly
from a trusted domestic source.
