Terrot Unveils T Frame Platform To Redefine Large Diameter Circular Knitting

Terrot Textilmaschinen GmbH has introduced the new T Frame platform, marking a major step forward in large diameter circular knitting technology. Announced from Chemnitz, Germany, the innovation responds to rising industry pressure for higher flexibility, precision and operational reliability in knit production.

The T Frame is a universal tubular machine frame designed for large diameter circular knitting machines ranging from 26 to 54 inches. Built from premium steel, the newly engineered structure is designed to handle higher mechanical loads while delivering improved knitting precision at industrial speeds. Terrot has completely reworked its frame architecture after nearly three decades of experience in large diameter machine concepts.

Global circular knitting manufacturers are facing tighter cost controls, labour constraints and increasing expectations around machine safety, ergonomics and sustainability. The T Frame directly addresses these challenges through a modular design that supports multiple take down and extraction configurations on a single standardized platform. This approach reduces mechanical complexity while enabling faster adaptation to changing fabric requirements.

Operational benefits include reduced setup times, simplified maintenance and improved long term process stability through integrated cable routing and optimized component layouts. Enhanced machine accessibility also improves operator safety and day to day handling on the shop floor.

Michael Lau, Head of Research and Development at Terrot, stated that the focus was placed on the foundation of machine performance to deliver higher stability, easier handling and future readiness. The platform is designed to support upcoming machine generations, helping manufacturers protect capital investment. The T Frame platform will be available across multiple configurations and will be showcased at upcoming international textile machinery exhibitions.
