Deven Supercriticals Showcases Plasma And CO₂ Dyeing Project To Textile Ministry

Deven Supercriticals Limited presented progress on an advanced dry textile processing project during a recent interaction with Union Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh and senior officials of the Ministry of Textiles under the National Technical Textile Mission. The initiative, executed jointly with the Bombay Textile Research Association, focuses on combining plasma treatment and supercritical CO₂ dyeing to eliminate conventional water intensive wet processing.

The project aims to optimise pre-processing stages such as scouring through plasma treatment, while dyeing and finishing are carried out using the company’s patented SUPRAUNO technology. This approach enables completely dry processing, significantly reducing water use, chemical discharge, and energy consumption.

India’s textile wet processing sector consumes billions of litres of water annually and accounts for nearly 20% of industrial water pollution. The company is now setting up a semi commercial demonstration plant in Mumbai to validate industrial scalability and sustainability benefits.
