Union Minister of Textiles, Giriraj Singh launched Bharat
Tex 2026 in New Delhi, signalling the start of preparations for India’s largest
textile trade platform scheduled from 14 to 17 July 2026 at Bharat Mandapam.
Senior officials including Neelam Shami Rao and Rohit Kansal
attended the launch along with industry leaders such as Bhadresh Dodhia, Sudhir
Sekhri and Rakesh Kumar.
The event will showcase the entire textile value chain from
fibre and yarn to apparel and technical textiles. India’s textile and apparel
sector contributes nearly 2.3% to national GDP and accounts for about 12% of
export earnings. Exports reached about US$36.7 billion in FY2025, while the
government targets US$100 billion in textile exports by 2030.
Industry stakeholders expect the platform to accelerate
global sourcing partnerships and strengthen India’s role in sustainable textile
manufacturing.
