ATEXCON 2026 concluded in Hyderabad, setting a strategic
direction for a resilient and technology driven global textile industry. Hosted
by Confederation of Indian Textile Industry in partnership with the Telangana
Government, the summit brought together policymakers, global industry leaders,
and innovators.
India aims to scale textile and apparel exports to US$100
billion by 2030 from current levels of around US$36 billion. Discussions
focused on fibre innovation, advanced manufacturing, and supply chain
optimisation to enhance global competitiveness. Industry leaders stressed
adoption of digital technologies, sustainable materials, and efficient
production systems to address evolving trade dynamics.
Telangana highlighted its ambition to emerge as a textile
hub, supported by green manufacturing clusters and integrated infrastructure.
Experts noted that Asia continues to dominate global textile trade,
contributing over 60% of production. The conference reinforced a collective
commitment toward innovation, sustainability, and value-added growth across the
textile ecosystem.
