The Central
Cottage Industries Corporation of India (CCIC) has launched “Soul Threads”, its
first heritage designer collection, marking a key step in its revival strategy.
The
exhibition, running from April 24 to May 10, 2026, at its flagship Janpath
showroom in New Delhi, brings together a curated mix of sarees, designer wear,
artisanal jewellery, and home furnishings, all rooted in India’s rich craft
traditions.
Inaugurated
by Textiles Secretary Neelam Shami Rao, the launch saw senior government
officials and industry stakeholders in attendance. The opening evening featured
a fashion show and cultural performances, blending tradition with modern design
sensibilities.
The
collection reinterprets indigenous textiles for contemporary markets,
positioning heritage crafts in a premium, design-led format.
With “Soul
Threads,” CCIC is sharpening its focus on artisan visibility, designer
collaboration, and cultural storytelling.
