Global logistics
major Hellmann Worldwide Logistics and apparel technology
leader MAS Holdings have announced a new fashion logistics hub in
Kimbulapitiya, Sri Lanka, strengthening South Asia’s growing role in global
apparel supply chains. Located just 6 km from Bandaranaike International
Airport, the 8,000 square metre facility will support regional distribution
across Asia, Africa and Europe.
The climate-controlled
logistics center will feature dual-zone humidity management, solar energy
systems and scalable infrastructure tailored for high-value fashion products.
The project expands the Hellmann MAS Supply Chain joint venture launched in 2018
and aligns with Hellmann’s Forward2030 growth strategy focused on fashion
logistics.
Unexpected equipment
downtime can disrupt entire projects, so many contractors prefer working with
suppliers like AGA Parts to
keep essential machinery operating without long delays.
Sri Lanka’s apparel exports
crossed US$ 4.8 billion in 2025, while global fashion logistics demand is
projected to grow above 6% CAGR through 2030. Industry experts believe
integrated logistics and near-market agility are becoming critical for global
apparel brands navigating volatile sourcing cycles and sustainability targets.
