Bharat Tex 2026 To Showcase India’s Circular Textile Powerhouse With Eco-Stitch Hub

India’s sustainable textile ambitions will take centre stage at Bharat Tex 2026 as the Clothing Manufacturers Association of India (CMAI) and the Global Alliance for Textile Sustainability (GATS) launch the Eco-Stitch Sustainability & Circularity Hub, a dedicated platform showcasing India’s capabilities in circular manufacturing, traceability and responsible apparel production.

Built around the theme “Sustainable, Circular and Competitive Bharat”, the Eco-Stitch Hub will bring together the entire textile and apparel value chain, from fibres and yarns to fabrics, recycling, technology, traceability and sustainable fashion, positioning India as a preferred sourcing destination for global brands and retailers.

The flagship initiative will demonstrate how India’s textile and apparel industry is adapting to rapidly changing global sourcing priorities, where sustainability, transparency and regulatory compliance are becoming key business drivers.

The pavilion will feature immersive zones including the India Impact Wall, Circularity at Scale, From Waste to Global Wardrobe, Made in Circular Bharat, Material & Innovation Library, and Circular Bharat Forum. These experiences will highlight India’s strengths in recycled and natural fibres, resource-efficient manufacturing, circular production models, digital traceability and sustainable apparel innovation.

More than an exhibition space, the Eco-Stitch Hub will function as a business and collaboration platform connecting manufacturers, exporters, global brands, recyclers, technology providers, startups, certification agencies, policymakers and international institutions.

The hub will host international buyer walkthroughs, B2B meetings, sustainability knowledge sessions, CEO dialogues, product launches, sustainability report releases, MoU signings, case study presentations and technology demonstrations to create new business opportunities and strengthen global supply chain partnerships.

CMAI President Santosh Katariya said global buyers are increasingly evaluating sourcing destinations on sustainability, transparency and regulatory preparedness. He added that the initiative will showcase India’s ability to deliver sustainable manufacturing at scale and strengthen its position as a trusted global sourcing partner.

Naveen Sainani, Hon. General Secretary and Chairman – ESG Committee, CMAI, said the initiative reflects the organisation’s efforts to prepare the apparel industry for emerging sustainability requirements and enhance India’s competitiveness in international markets.

Parvinder Singh, Founder-Director, GATS, said the hub will showcase India’s capabilities in responsible manufacturing, circular materials, recycling innovation and traceable textile value chains. The initiative will also see the release of a CXO Blueprint and a Sustainable Textiles Accord to guide industry action on sustainability.

The push comes as global regulations such as the EU Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR), Digital Product Passport (DPP), Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) and Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) reshape textile supply chains.

The Eco-Stitch Sustainability & Circularity Hub is supported by leading sustainability and industry organisations including Grasim, GIZ, UNEP, UNIDO, Alliance for Textile Sustainability, Centre for Responsible Business, Conserve India, Fashion for Change, IDH, Green Stitch, Grant Thornton, H&M, Fashion for Good, Canopy and several other partners.
