Oman Makes Pallets Mandatory For Import Shipments

Textile exporters shipping to Oman must act now. Oman Customs is making palletisation mandatory for most imported goods entering the country by land from 16 July 2026, with the rule extending to air and sea shipments from 15 September 2026.

Under the new regulation, goods requiring mechanical handling must arrive on wooden, plastic or metal pallets. Shipments failing to meet the requirement could be rejected and sent back.

The move is part of Oman’s customs modernisation drive to speed up cargo handling, improve safety and streamline inspections.

Indian textile exporters supplying garments, fabrics and home textiles to Oman will need to align packaging and logistics processes immediately to avoid shipment delays.
