India Opens The E-Export Door

India is making it easier for its manufacturers and MSMEs to sell abroad through e-commerce. A new framework allows export-only inventory operations, with registered Exporter-on-Record entities handling customs, documentation, testing, packaging, fulfilment, logistics and even returns. For textile and apparel businesses, this could be particularly useful. A small garment maker no longer needs to master the entire export maze to reach an overseas customer. The framework lets sellers focus on making the product while an EOR handles the messy bits. And with inventory clearly tracked, sellers getting timely payments and export benefits passed through, India’s small exporters get a potentially much bigger shop window to the world.
