Egypt Opens The Fast Lane

Egypt is giving regional trade a logistics boost. Its new TIR customs transit system allows sealed cargo to cross multiple borders with one customs document and guarantee, cutting repeated inspections, paperwork and financial deposits. At the same time, Egypt has activated eight integrated logistics corridors, linking major ports, dry ports, industrial centres and neighbouring markets. For textile exporters, the attraction is obvious: fewer border headaches, smoother transit and potentially faster access to markets across Africa, the Middle East and Europe. With Egypt sitting on the Suez route, better logistics could make its location even more valuable.
