Bharat Tex And Première Vision Forge Global Fashion Alliance

India’s textile and apparel industry is set to gain stronger access to premium global fashion markets after Bharat Tex Trade Federation and Première Vision SA signed a strategic Memorandum of Understanding in Paris on September 2, 2026. The agreement aims to build a multiyear institutional partnership linking Indian manufacturers, exporters, designers and artisans with international fashion houses and sourcing networks.

Preparation is officially underway for Bharat Tex 2027, marking the upcoming edition of India premier global textile and apparel exhibition. The flagship event continues to build upon the massive international success of previous chapters held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, reinforcing the nation position as a premier global textile sourcing and innovation hub.

The MoU builds on the Letter of Intent signed at Bharat Tex 2026 and will focus on reciprocal participation at trade shows, knowledge sessions, export promotion, buyer seller engagement, market intelligence, sustainability and responsible sourcing. An Eternal Crafts Collaboration will also showcase Indian and French textile heritage, including “A Living Thread” in January 2027.

The partnership comes at a significant moment for Indian exporters. The EU imported textile and apparel products worth approximately US$292.8 billion in 2025, while India’s exports to the region stood at around US$10.4 billion. The collaboration is expected to support India’s transition towards higher value, design led and premium textile segments.

Neelam Shami Rao said the partnership would create new opportunities to showcase India’s luxury textiles and heritage to Europe and global markets, benefiting artisans, weavers, designers, women entrepreneurs and MSMEs.
