Italian
textile machinery makers are at TITAS 2026 in Taipei from October 6–8, as
Taiwan’s textile industry enters a fresh phase of investment and modernisation.
After
a period of global adjustment, Italian machinery exports to Taiwan surged at
the beginning of 2026, signalling renewed demand for technology as Taiwanese
manufacturers look to upgrade production and move into higher-value niches.
Taiwan
has traditionally been strong in the upstream textile supply chain, and
spinning machinery remains the biggest area of interest for Italian suppliers.
Finishing machinery and accessories are also attracting demand.
Taiwanese
manufacturers are looking for flexible, customised technology that can support
product diversification while improving resource efficiency and sustainability.
“Italian
companies are coming to TITAS not merely as machinery suppliers, but as genuine
technology partners,” says Marco Salvadè, President of ACIMIT. He says Italian
machinery makers are ready to combine resource efficiency with high product
quality through customised solutions.
Eleven
Italian companies are exhibiting in the Italian Pavilion, covering technologies
across the textile machinery value chain.
Italy’s
textile machinery industry comprises around 300 companies employing nearly
13,000 people, with machinery production worth approximately €2.1 billion.
About 86% is exported, underlining how important overseas markets such as
Taiwan are to the sector.
