ITA,
the Institute of Technical Textiles at RWTH Aachen University in Germany, and
its partners, have received approval for the establishment of a new technology
and development centre in Mönchengladbach, Textile Factory 7.0 (T7).
The
goal is to explore advances in energy efficiency, AI/robotics and biotechnology
within a single fully operational textile laboratory focusing on a close
collaboration between industry and research partners.
T7
will create new jobs and strengthen research projects aimed at demonstrating
the benefits of regional textile production.
Also
involved are the Research Institute for Textiles and Clothing at the Hochschule
Niederrhein, the Association of the Northwest German Textile and Clothing
Industry, the Association of the Rhineland Textile and Clothing Industry, the
Textile Academy NRW, and WFMG (Mönchengladbach Economic Development).
A
first German language-only event will be held at the T7 on March 19th with
a focus on four key themes – On-Demand Manufacturing, MicroFactory Engineering,
Digital Textiles and Biosphere. Registration can be made here.

and Space (BMFTR).
