Prashant Group Is A One Stop Solution To The Complete Weaving Preparatory Segment

Prashant Group, established in 1975, is one of Indian's prominent and fast growing textile machine manufacturers. The company's vision is to help the industry achieve the highest level of quality and best output by providing machines and equipments with innovative and world class technology at moderate prices. Henry Dsouza in conversation with Amoli Shah, Director, Prashant Group of Industries.

What's new from Prashant Group this year for ITMA?

We have the sizing winder machine on display. We have the sectional warping machine with some new modifications. It is Asia's first and most advanced technology with cradle like beaming structure and advanced laser technology. This is the most ideal sectional warper for all different yarn counts for varied applications.

How was the response at ITMA?

For us, it was a very successful exhibition. We had visitors from around 60 countries. We are expecting to finalise some orders for our various machines - sizing machine, warping machine, sectional warper, warp beam trolleys, warping for warp knitting and narrow fabric machines within a short period.

How are you contending with competition?

In India, we are leaders in our segment. We make around 15 sectional warping machines every month, which is the highest till date and we have installed more than 2000 of them worldwide. I don't think any other supplier manufactures so many machines in a month. We also manufacture the world's fastest robotic sectional warper, which nobody else is still manufacturing in the market. We have some tie-ups with leading European and American textile manufacturing companies, which gives us a technological  edge over our competitors, and enhances our product profile.

What textile developments have you witnessed in India, China and Bangladesh?

These are the three main countries where textile manufacturing is happening. Bangladesh's market is growing and will continue to grow in the coming years. In India, the market will be good for the next 10-15 years, there is no doubt about it. China will remain at the top in the textile industry, even as  currently the investments have slowed down in the textile sector and its labour cost is increasing.

What are the prospects for your products in the global market?

We are doing excellent in the Indian market and exporting to more than 35 countries, so our products are well accepted globally and until we meet again here, we would have many more countries added to the list.
